Loznička mlekara suspends milk procurement, affecting 450+ producers

Loznička mlekara has suspended milk procurement, affecting over 450 producers in the Mačva District, including 135 located within the City of Loznica. In response, the City of Loznica and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management have intervened to find solutions and support the affected farmers.

While local and state authorities noted they lack the legal jurisdiction to resolve private contractual disputes or outstanding payments between producers and the dairy, they have actively coordinated with other market players. As a result, Šabac Dairy and Ub Dairy have stepped in to take over procurement for a portion of the affected producers. This arrangement has already secured milk placement for half of the producers in the Loznica area, and efforts continue to ensure coverage for the remaining farmers.
