LPBINU Sumenep launches disaster preparedness program for students

The Disaster Management and Climate Change Agency of Nahdlatul Ulama (LPBINU) in Sumenep has launched the ‘Madrasah Aman Bencana’ (Mabana) program to strengthen disaster preparedness among students. The initiative was introduced during the 2026 Santri Day celebrations at MAN 1 Sumenep.

As part of the launch, students participated in disaster mitigation simulations to learn about potential risks and necessary anticipatory steps. LPBINU Sumenep Chairman Soepardi stated that the program serves as a five-year strategic identity for the organization, aiming to instill early awareness of environmental changes and disaster readiness within educational environments.

In collaboration with the Sumenep Ministry of Religious Affairs, the program will be implemented through a series of roadshows targeting various madrasahs across different sub-districts in the Sumenep Regency.
