López Lecube proposed as provincial capital of religious rural tourism

Provincial Senator Nerina Neumann Losada has introduced a bill in the Buenos Aires Legislature to declare the town of López Lecube the Provincial Capital of Religious Rural Tourism. The initiative aims to highlight the locality's religious, historical, and architectural heritage to boost its development as a tourist destination.

The proposal was presented during the 17th annual horseback pilgrimage to López Lecube in the Puan district. This traditional event, held every last Sunday of August, brings together families, riders, and traditionalist centers to honor the Virgin of Carmen. The pilgrimage begins in Felipe Solá and concludes at the López Lecube church, a structure with historical significance dating back to a promise made in 1887.

Neumann Losada emphasized the importance of preserving local identity and transmitting rural traditions to younger generations, noting the deep cultural and personal connection the community maintains with these customs.
