LPF Play introduces monthly subscription for Argentine football

LPF Play, the broadcasting platform for the Argentine Football Association (AFA), has transitioned from a free service to a monthly subscription model. Starting mid-October, fans must pay a monthly fee of $15,000 to access matches from the Primera Nacional, B Metropolitana, and Primera C.

The new 'Plan Plus' also includes coverage of the Women's First Division Championship, the Torneo Proyección (Reserve), and the men's First Division futsal. This subscription allows for use on two simultaneous screens and features automatic renewal with the option to cancel at any time.

A free 'Plan Base' will remain available, but it offers a more limited selection of live content. This includes selected matches from Federal A, women's futsal, the Torneo Promocional Amateur, and highlights of national team matches, along with press conferences and various LPF programs.

The shift follows a transition plan initiated by the AFA to retain television rights for lower-tier football, a move that has impacted the economics of various clubs. Additionally, new broadcasting policies prohibit media outlets from recording images from two hours before a match until one hour after its conclusion, including a ban on posting match action on social media.
