LPG market in Poland shows steady demand despite shifting usage patterns
In the first half of 2026, Poland saw the installation of 212,714 LPG systems in passenger cars, a slight 2.3 percent decrease compared to the same period in 2025. Despite the exclusion of autogas from certain government fuel protection packages, demand remains steady. Drivers can save an average of 5.61 PLN per 100 km, with installation costs typically recouped after approximately 71,000 km.
The LPG market in Poland is undergoing a structural shift. While transport currently accounts for nearly three-quarters of usage, experts suggest the peak of autogas popularity may have passed. Future growth is expected in rural heating for residential and agricultural buildings, as well as in industrial applications.
Poland relies heavily on imports to meet demand, with domestic production accounting for only 450,000 tons compared to over 2.23 million tons imported last year. Following sanctions, supply routes have shifted from Russia toward Western sources, with maritime terminals in Gdańsk, Gdynia, and Szczecin securing approximately two-thirds of the total imported volume.
