LPG supply improves in Pakistan, driving price reductions

Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) supplies in Pakistan are increasing, leading to a significant drop in market prices. In Karachi, prices have already fallen from 550 rupees to 500 rupees per kilogram within a four-day period.

This price reduction follows the arrival of three LPG vessels at Port Qasim, including the vessels ‘Pryanes’ and ‘Alisa One’, which have offloaded thousands of metric tons of gas. Additionally, the supply of LPG via the Pakistan-Iran border has resumed. Approximately 900 LPG bowsers were released from Iran, with over 200 expected to reach Karachi shortly, potentially adding 3,000 to 4,000 tons to the market.

The LPG Association suggests that prices could decrease by an additional 30 rupees per kilogram within the next 48 hours due to the surplus. To maintain market stability and provide continuous relief to consumers, the association has requested the government to implement weekly rather than monthly price determinations.
