LPG vehicle conversion benefits and requirements

Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) is increasingly being used as a gasoline alternative due to its lower cost and environmental benefits. In certain regions, converting a vehicle to LPG allows drivers to access ECO labels, which provide benefits such as entry into Low Emission Zones, parking discounts, and municipal tax bonuses.

To perform a conversion, a vehicle must be compatible, typically meaning it is a gasoline engine registered under Euro 3 standards or higher (approximately from 2001 onwards). The process requires an approved kit that complies with European ECE/ONU R-115 regulations. The conversion involves installing an independent tank, often in the spare tire compartment, and the vehicle automatically switches from gasoline to gas once the engine reaches the appropriate temperature.
