LPPOM receives award for science-based halal auditing

LPPOM (Lembaga Pemeriksa Halal) has received the ‘Excellence in Pioneering Halal Auditing and Development’ award at the Indonesia Halal Awards 2026. The ceremony was organized by the Halal Product Assurance Organizing Agency (BPJPH) in Jakarta.

The award recognizes LPPOM’s three-decade contribution to establishing the national halal certification infrastructure and its commitment to science-based halal auditing. According to jury member Prof. Zilhadia, the institution’s strength lies in its combination of competent auditors, internationally accredited laboratories, and accountable service systems. This approach ensures that halal inspection is a scientific proof rather than a mere administrative procedure.

LPPOM’s technical contributions include the development of the Halal Assurance System (HAS 23000), which serves as a national reference standard. The institution has maintained various accreditations, including SNI ISO/IEC 17025:2015 and SNI ISO/IEC 17065:2015, and was officially appointed as a Halal Inspection Agency by BPJPH in 2024.
