LPS maintains deposit insurance rates through January 2027
The Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) has decided to maintain its Deposit Insurance Rate (TBP) for the period of October 1, 2026, to January 31, 2027. The rates remain at 3.75% for rupiah deposits in commercial banks, 6.25% for rupiah deposits in Rural Banks (BPR), and 2% for foreign currency deposits in commercial banks.
LPS Chairman Anggito Abimanyu stated that the decision aims to maintain public confidence in the banking system and support financial stability. The move considers limited increases in deposit interest rates, positive intermediation performance, and stable industry liquidity. As of August 2026, third-party funds grew by 10.94% year-on-year, while credit distribution increased by 13.66%.
In a separate operational update, LPS has disbursed Rp 243.02 billion in insurance claims to protect thousands of customers from four failed BPR/BPRS institutions in West Java between 2025 and August 2026. This covered 31,437 accounts, representing 99.47% of eligible deposits. Nationally, LPS has handled 11 bank closures through August 2026, paying out Rp 595.61 billion in claims.
