Lőrinc Mészáros, Hungary’s wealthiest individual, addressed employees and family members during a Mészáros Group event, signaling a willingness to cooperate with the new Tisza-led government. Mészáros emphasized that his conglomerate is deeply integrated with the Hungarian state and expressed hope that the new administration will not seek to dismantle domestic large-scale capital in favor of multinational corporations.

He noted that the group has continued to expand since the April 12 elections and has not laid off any staff in the last five months. Prime Minister Péter Magyar responded to the speech with irony on social media, questioning Mészáros's motives.

In a separate legal development, billionaire Dániel Jellinek, a former business partner of István Tiborcz, was detained as part of a corruption investigation into state-owned bus operator Volánbusz. Prosecutors are investigating alleged bribery and inflated procurement of second-hand buses that may have caused approximately HUF 10 billion in losses to the state.
