Lürssen shipyard subpoenaed in Banco Master liquidation case
The German shipyard Lürssen has been subpoenaed to provide documents and nominate executives for testimony regarding potential business dealings with banker Daniel Vorcaro and individuals linked to Banco Master. The subpoena was issued by Eduardo Felix Bianchini, the liquidator for Banco Master, as part of the institution's liquidation proceedings in the United States.
Operating under Chapter 15 of the U.S. bankruptcy code, which allows American courts to recognize foreign liquidation proceedings, the liquidator is seeking contracts, agreements, bank statements, and records of transactions involving Banco Master, LetsBank, and other related entities. The request aims to identify assets and operations relevant to the investigation.
The vessel in question, the superyacht Nixie, was previously owned by Vorcaro. The yacht has been the subject of various ownership changes and legal disputes involving high-profile figures, including Nik Storonsky, the founder of Revolut. Lürssen has stated it will not comment on the matter due to corporate policy.
