LS Cable & System partners with AFF consortium for AI data center power solutions
LS Cable & System has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the AI Factory Frontier (AFF) consortium to provide integrated power infrastructure solutions for AI data centers (AIDC).
The AFF consortium includes five companies specializing in architectural design, GPU and AI infrastructure platforms, power equipment, business development, and cooling/renewable energy systems. The partnership aims to propose comprehensive solutions to AIDC operators, covering everything from external power grids to internal distribution and communication networks.
A key component of the proposal is LS Cable & System’s commercialized superconducting system. This technology allows for the transmission of high-capacity power using 23kV medium voltage, performing at levels comparable to 154kV high-voltage equipment. This capability enables the use of existing substations, reducing the need for customers to construct new substations or secure additional space for power facilities.
Through this collaboration, LS Cable & System intends to expand its business scope from supplying individual products, such as cables, to designing and proposing entire power infrastructures from the early stages of AI data center projects.
