LS Electric Director Park Woo-jin receives Science and Technology Package

Park Woo-jin, Director of the Global Product Development Research Group at LS Electric, has been awarded the Science and Technology Package at the inaugural Technology Developers' Day ceremony held in Seoul.

Park is recognized for leading the localization of core low- and high-voltage power distribution equipment, reducing reliance on imports. His achievements include developing next-generation arc extinguishing technology and leading the creation of Air Circuit Breakers (ACB), Vacuum Circuit Breakers (VCB), and Ring Main Units (RMU).

In the field of direct current (DC) power equipment, Park led the development of the nation's first 1000V-class ACB and the world's first 1500V-class ACB and Disconnecting Switch Unit (DSU) product lines. These technologies are increasingly critical for AI data centers, renewable energy, and energy storage systems (ESS). The ACB and VCB product lines, including DC models, have generated cumulative sales exceeding 1 trillion won between 2021 and 2025.
