LS ELECTRIC and Infineon team up on high‑efficiency DC power for AI data centers
LS ELECTRIC and German semiconductor firm Infineon Technologies have signed a memorandum of understanding to co‑develop high‑efficiency direct‑current (DC) power infrastructure for AI data centers and next‑generation power grids. The partnership will focus on power conversion systems for energy‑storage systems, solid‑state transformers (SSTs) and solid‑state circuit breakers (SSCBs), technologies that reduce conversion steps, lower energy loss and boost system reliability in high‑density power environments. LS ELECTRIC will provide system‑integration expertise while Infineon contributes its leading power‑semiconductor portfolio.
Both companies said the collaboration aims to enhance power‑ and voltage‑conversion efficiency and strengthen stability for future DC power networks. LS ELECTRIC recently completed the world’s first 100% DC distribution factory, providing data to accelerate commercial rollout of the joint solutions. The joint effort targets the rapid growth of AI data‑center electricity demand and the broader shift toward more complex, distributed power grids.
