LS Electric reports Q3 earnings surprise amid diverging analyst targets

LS Electric reported a third-quarter earnings surprise, with consolidated revenue reaching 1.8778 trillion won and an operating profit of 233.5 billion won. The operating profit exceeded the market consensus of 193.9 billion won by 20.4%, maintaining an operating profit margin of 12.4%.

Despite the strong performance, securities analysts have provided widely differing target prices for the company. Korea Investment & Securities maintained a ‘buy’ rating with a target price of 330,000 won, citing long-term growth driven by power infrastructure demand in the U.S. and expected price increases in Europe and Asia. In contrast, Samsung Securities maintained a ‘buy’ rating but lowered its target price from 260,000 won to 232,000 won, applying a more conservative valuation to growth stocks.

The primary variable for future stock performance is expected to be the speed at which the company’s large order backlog converts into actual profit.
