LSDM members and Left party seek broad opposition front

Members of the LSDM and the Left party are calling for the creation of a broad opposition front to challenge the current government led by VMRO-DPMNE. During the ‘12:05-Conversation for the Future’ platform, Igor Ivanovski of the LSDM Reform Group stated that the goal is to build a stable opposition to counter what he described as incorrect government policies.

Slavjanka Petrovska, a current LSDM deputy and former Minister of Defense, expressed that internal dissatisfaction within the party has been building for two years. She claimed that previous attempts to propose systemic changes to party leader Venko Filipçe were ignored or met with silence. Petrovska stated she declined offers from the current leadership to join them under conditions that would have required her to ‘push things under the table.’

Amar Mecinoviq, spokesperson for the Left, criticized the LSDM for its lack of a clear opposition stance against VMRO-DPMNE, suggesting the party is failing to fulfill its role in mobilizing against the current administration.
