LSU and Clemson face off as College GameDay returns for season opener

College GameDay returns for its 40th season with its first Week 1 broadcast live from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The show will precede the matchup between No. 11 LSU and Clemson at Tiger Stadium.

Country music star Lainey Wilson has been announced as the celebrity guest picker for the event. A Louisiana native, Wilson is expected to perform live during the broadcast. The game also marks the debut of Lane Kiffin as the head coach for LSU.

The matchup follows two inconsistent seasons for both programs; Clemson finished 8-5 last year, while LSU ended with a 7-6 record. The game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
