LSU coach Will Wade addresses roster and eligibility concerns

LSU men’s basketball coach Will Wade addressed roster uncertainty and eligibility concerns during a virtual SEC Media Day call on Tuesday. The program has experienced an unconventional offseason, at one point having only four players officially listed on its roster while several prospective players awaited NCAA eligibility rulings.

Wade expressed confidence in the team despite these challenges, noting that the roster has since grown. He addressed questions regarding specific players, such as RJ Luis and Marcio Santos, while emphasizing that the program is following all Southeastern Conference protocols. Wade indicated that the coaching staff has a good sense of which players will be available for the regular-season opener on November 3.

The virtual appearance followed the cancellation of LSU’s flight to Birmingham due to weather conditions. During the call, Wade also engaged in a tense exchange with reporter Pat Forde when questioned about the status of players not yet appearing on the official roster.
