LSU defeats McNeese State 63-14 in dominant performance

No. 11 LSU defeated McNeese State 63-14 in a non-conference matchup at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge. The Tigers recorded 731 yards of total offense, including a season-high 367 rushing yards. LSU set a school record by running 101 offensive plays during the contest.

Quarterback Sam Leavitt, playing through a hamstring injury, completed 18 of 23 passes for 176 yards and three touchdowns. Running backs Harlem Berry and Stacy Gage both surpassed 100 yards on the ground, with Gage contributing two fourth-quarter touchdowns. LSU held a 35-0 lead at halftime.

LSU head coach Lane Kiffin opted not to implement a running clock in the second half, stating he wants his players to decide games through their performance. Despite recent injuries to the roster, including linebacker Whit Weeks, Kiffin used the game to evaluate depth and backups.
