LSU integrates former NFL player ahead of Clemson opener

LSU head coach Lane Kiffin has integrated former Cleveland Browns tight end Dae’Quan Wright into walk-through practices as the 11th-ranked Tigers prepare for their season opener against Clemson.

The eligibility of Wright, along with defensive lineman Zxavian Harris and defensive back Blake Cotton, remains uncertain due to ongoing litigation. While the Southeastern Conference recently passed a rule to bar professional players from returning to the league, a Texas judge has placed that rule on hold.

Kiffin expressed support for bringing in players with professional experience, arguing that if college athletes are compensated like professionals, teams should be allowed to make late roster additions similar to NFL teams. Kiffin noted that LSU team leaders were supportive of the move, stating, “If they can help us win, bring ’em.”
