LSU quarterback Sam Leavitt doubtful for Ole Miss matchup

LSU quarterback Sam Leavitt has been listed as doubtful for the upcoming matchup against No. 8 Ole Miss due to an undisclosed injury. Leavitt, a transfer from Arizona State, has led the No. 7 Tigers through the first two games of the season. If he is unable to play, Landen Clark is expected to take over quarterback duties.

The highly anticipated game in Oxford features LSU coach Lane Kiffin returning to his former program. Analysts have noted the high stakes for both unbeaten teams, particularly regarding College Football Playoff implications. For Ole Miss, a victory could significantly boost quarterback Trinidad Chambliss’s standing in the Heisman Trophy race.

Concerns have been raised regarding Leavitt’s recent performance, specifically noting three interceptions thrown during a Week 2 game against Louisiana Tech. The matchup is viewed as a critical test for both programs as they seek to maintain perfect records and establish dominance in the SEC.
