LSU targets former Broncos cornerback Blake Cotton after legal ruling
LSU is working to add former Denver Broncos cornerback Blake Cotton to its roster following a significant legal ruling. Cotton, who previously played for UC Davis and Utah, spent the offseason with the Broncos before being released in August.
A preliminary injunction granted by Judge William Jorden has paved the way for NCAA and SEC eligibility for more than 40 athletes who had been participating in NFL activities during the summer. The judge stated that LSU, the NCAA, and the SEC are enjoined from taking actions that negatively impact these athletes.
This legal development allows LSU to pursue Cotton as a key resource for a defensive unit currently facing depth issues and an aging roster. Other potential transfers, such as Dae’Quan Wright and Zxavian Harris, are also affected by this ruling, presenting LSU with critical roster decisions.
