LSU Tigers consider 2022 recruits returning under NCAA eligibility ruling

The NCAA’s 2022 eligibility ruling permits athletes from the 2022 recruiting class to return to their original schools. LSU head coach Lane Kiffin is reviewing which former Tigers could rejoin the program, including defensive tackle Tygee Hill, now with Oregon State, and defensive back Jaelyn Davis‑Robinson, currently at SMU. Both players were three‑star recruits who spent a season with LSU before transferring.

Quarterback Sam Leavitt, who has played for six schools in eight years, is also weighing LSU as his next destination. After stints at Michigan State, Arizona State and other programs, Leavitt says LSU offers the professional‑level training he seeks, and he is considering entering the transfer portal to join the Tigers.
