LSU faces Mississippi State amid key player injuries

LSU prepares to host No. 16 Mississippi State in Baton Rouge with significant implications for their College Football Playoff aspirations. Following a 35-34 overtime loss to Kentucky, the Tigers face pressure to address defensive execution issues and offensive turnovers, specifically regarding quarterback Sam Leavitt’s ball security.

Mississippi State enters the matchup facing major personnel challenges. Star freshman quarterback Kamario Taylor is expected to miss the game due to a turf toe injury sustained against Missouri. Additionally, star running back Fluff Bothwell is also listed as doubtful with a lower body injury, potentially leaving the Bulldogs without their two primary offensive weapons.
