LSU Tigers unveil fall baseball exhibition schedule and add transfer running back Dilin Jones

The LSU Tigers baseball team released its 2026 fall exhibition slate, scheduling games against Samford (Biloxi, Miss.), Troy (Baton Rouge) and Southeastern Louisiana (Baton Rouge). The lineup includes a home game at Alex Box Stadium on Nov. 8 and a neutral‑site contest at Keesler Federal Park on Oct. 31‑Nov. 1.

Highly touted high‑school pitcher Logan Schmidt, a top‑15 national recruit from California, announced he will forgo a professional contract after being selected by the Cleveland Guardians in the 2026 MLB draft and will join LSU’s roster.

In football, LSU announced the addition of Wisconsin transfer running back Dilin Jones. Jones, who logged 300 rushing yards and two touchdowns before a season‑ending injury in 2025, impressed head coach Lane Kiffin, who highlighted Jones’s vision, protection skills and steady running style as a potential boost for the Tigers’ offense ahead of the 2026 season.
