LSU to host McNeese State in non-conference football matchup

The LSU Tigers are scheduled to host the McNeese State Cowboys for their final non-conference NCAA College Football game on Saturday, October 3, 2026. The matchup features an FCS opponent against the SEC team.

LSU faces several roster challenges heading into the contest. Quarterback Sam Leavitt is managing a lower-body injury sustained during a previous win against Texas A&M, potentially leaving backup Landen Clark to lead the offense. Additionally, star linebacker Whit Weeks is expected to be absent, shifting defensive responsibilities to TJ Dottery. The Tigers are also working to stabilize their tight end position following the absence of Trey'Dez Green.

Betting markets have set the spread at -53 in favor of LSU, with a projected total of 62 points. McNeese enters the game with a recent record of nine losses and one push in their last ten games.
