L&T President identifies India as global investment destination

R Shankar Raman, President and Whole-time Director (Finance) of Larsen & Toubro (L&T), has identified India as a premier global destination for investment. Speaking at the 40th Convocation of SASTRA Deemed University in Thanjavur, Raman noted that India’s growth opportunities are bolstered by its next-generation workforce talent.

Raman highlighted several strategic sectors poised for significant investment, including healthcare, education, public transport and utilities, semiconductors, water, defence, energy, and the environment. He emphasized the importance of coordination between industry and academia to ensure students master traditional disciplines while remaining proficient in emerging technologies.

During the event, 4,414 students received degrees across various fields, including engineering, sciences, management, law, and social sciences. Raman advised graduates to prioritize continuous learning and mental agility to adapt to evolving professional challenges.
