The fifth edition of L’Étape România by Tour de France took place in Bucharest on August 30, drawing over 2,000 amateur and professional cyclists from 22 different countries. The event featured three main categories: The Ride (37 km), The Race (75 km), and City Adventure (14 km). Due to roadworks on Basarabia Boulevard, course distances were slightly adjusted to ensure participant safety.

Following the competition, public transport in Bucharest has returned to its regular routes after weekend restrictions. During the event, TPBI and STB modified 33 transport lines and introduced three shuttle services (669, 690, and 691) to accommodate travelers. While most services have resumed, some modifications remain in effect due to ongoing construction in the Republica – Hala Laminor area, where lines 640 and N109 have been extended to the Isovolta station.
