L’Étape România cycling event nears registration deadline

Registration for the L’Étape România by Tour de France event, scheduled for August 30, is nearing capacity. The deadline for registration is August 26, or sooner if available spots are filled.

Nearly 2,000 cyclists from 17 different countries have already secured places, representing over 170 cities and localities. Participating nations include Bulgaria, Greece, the United Kingdom, Serbia, Moldova, Ukraine, Germany, Cyprus, France, Belgium, and Austria. The largest race of the day, ‘The Ride’, is expected to draw approximately 1,200 participants over a 42 km course.

Due to the event, significant traffic restrictions will be in place in Bucharest on Sunday, August 30, from 07:00 to 14:00. Several major streets and arteries will be closed to vehicular traffic to ensure cyclist safety, including Unirii Boulevard, Mircea Vodă Boulevard, Splaiul Unirii, Decebal Boulevard, Basarabia Boulevard, Calea Victoriei, Regina Elisabeta Boulevard, and Schitu Măgure Boulevard.
