L’Étape Türkiye by Tour de France held in Istanbul

The L’Étape Türkiye by Tour de France cycling event took place in Istanbul, featuring participants from 40 different countries. Approximately 2,000 athletes competed across three distinct routes: a 97.6-kilometer long course, a 41.3-kilometer short course, and a 31.4-kilometer intercontinental experience course.

The race, supported by Škoda, included a crossing of the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge, connecting Asia and Europe. Four-time Tour de France champion and Škoda brand ambassador Chris Froome participated in the event, making a symbolic crossing of the bridge between the two continents.

Turkish Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Aşkın Bak attended the start of the race, noting that Turkey is making significant investments in sports tourism. The event organizers emphasized the importance of such competitions in promoting cycling culture and infrastructure within the region.
