L'Étape Türkiye by Tour de France hosts cycling events in Istanbul

L'Étape Türkiye by Tour de France is hosting cycling events in Istanbul, featuring both competitive races and public participation activities. The organization aims to promote cycling culture and active lifestyles.

One major component is a public ride organized in collaboration with Yeşilay. Approximately 1,500 participants completed a 20-kilometer route starting from Sepetçiler Kasrı, passing through historic areas such as Galata, Karaköy, Beşiktaş, and Balat, while enjoying views of the Bosphorus.

In the competitive segment, cyclist Zafer Çamaltı, representing Bulancak Municipality, is preparing for the upcoming race scheduled for September 20, 2026. He intends to compete in the 50-kilometer short course. The broader event is expected to draw around 2,500 athletes across two categories: a 101-kilometer long course and a 50-kilometer short course, with routes including the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge.
