Lütfiye Sönmez establishes hair salon in purple house in Antakya

Lütfiye Sönmez, a resident of the Açıkdere neighborhood in the Antakya district, has successfully established a hair salon within her three-story home. After practicing her profession in a single room of her house for the first two years, Sönmez decided to convert the second floor into a dedicated workspace to avoid the mess caused by hair dye and other salon processes.

Despite initial concerns from her husband that a business would not succeed in a village setting, Sönmez chose to operate from her home rather than moving to a city center to remain close to her children. To make the business more visible and easier for clients to locate, she painted the exterior of her house purple. The distinctive color has made the building a local landmark, attracting customers from the neighborhood and surrounding villages. Following the growth of her business, Sönmez is now aiming to open a second branch.
