LTO summons actor over supercar with suspected fake plates

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has issued a show cause order to an actor and a designated driver after a luxury supercar was found using a suspected fake license plate on public roads. LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Markus Lacanilao stated that the vehicle’s displayed alphanumeric combination did not match its official registration.

While the LTO did not initially name the owner, reports indicate the vehicle is registered to actor Derek Ramsay. The agency noted that the car had reportedly been sold to an unnamed businessman, but because payment has allegedly not been completed, the vehicle remains under Ramsay’s name.

The LTO has placed the supercar under alarm status and directed its impoundment. Additionally, the designated driver’s license has been placed under a 90-day preventive suspension. The registered owner and driver are required to appear before the LTO Intelligence and Investigation Division to provide a sworn explanation regarding the violation and to address why their licenses should not be revoked.
