Lu Shiow-yen leads Taichung delegation to Okinawa for aerial wedding and diplomacy

Taichung Mayor Lu Shiow-yen led a delegation to Okinawa, Japan, for a 28-hour trip focused on three primary objectives: officiating a national-first aerial wedding for 66 couples, conducting city diplomacy through visits to the Okinawa Prefectural Government, and visiting local Taiwanese businesses and overseas Chinese communities.

During her departure from Taichung International Airport, Lu was questioned regarding rumors of low approval ratings for Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an in a recently released poll. Lu responded that she had not seen any such data or polling results.

Legislator Huang Chien-hao accompanied the delegation to assist with coordination between the city government and airlines, ensuring the logistical success of the unique aerial ceremony.
