Luanda International Film Festival 2026 receives 88 national entries

The Luanda International Film Festival (FIC Luanda) 2026 has concluded its registration period for the National Competition, receiving 88 submissions from Angolan filmmakers. The entries include 60 fiction short films, 16 fiction feature films, and 12 documentaries.

Selected films will be announced on September 15 following an evaluation by the programming team based on artistic and technical criteria such as direction, screenplay, cinematography, and sound. The festival, organized by the National Agency for Cultural and Creative Industries (ANICC) under the Ministry of Culture, is scheduled to take place in Luanda from October 28 to November 2.

The event aims to promote the Angolan audiovisual industry and increase the visibility of national creators. The festival is expected to showcase approximately 120 films from over 18 countries and will include workshops, lectures, and training activities.
