Lužany roundabout construction enters next phase on I/27
Construction of a new five-arm roundabout in Lužany on the I/27 road is entering its next phase. Current traffic restrictions on the I/27 highway are set to remain in place until August 30.
Following the start of the fifth stage, which runs from August 31 to September 13, 2026, traffic will be maintained via a shuttle system managed by traffic lights. Similar restrictions will apply during the sixth and seventh stages. The sixth stage is scheduled from September 14 to October 6, with the final stage lasting approximately three weeks. The road is expected to return to full accessibility by the end of October.
The project, managed by the Road and Motorway Directorate (ŘSD) at a cost of 32.3 million CZK excluding VAT, aims to improve safety and traffic flow on the busy Plzeň–Klatovy route. The new roundabout will connect the I/27 with third-class roads III/18211 and III/18325, as well as new local connections. The construction also includes new sidewalks and a nearly 40-meter-long noise barrier.
