Lubbock, Texas, will host two major musical events focused on local culture and community support.
As part of the Texas Tech University Presidential Lecture & Performance Series, acclaimed songwriter and visual artist Terry Allen will perform two shows on October 22nd and 23rd. The first evening, titled “Truckload of Art,” will feature Allen and his wife, Jo Harvey Allen, combining music, spoken word, and conversation alongside author Brendan Greaves. The second night, “Memwars,” will feature the Panhandle Mystery Band, including musicians such as Charlie Sexton and Lloyd Maines.
On November 14th, musician Stoney LaRue will headline the “Cowboys & Courage” benefit concert at The Bus Barn at Cook's Garage. The event aims to raise funds for the Lubbock Pediatric Cancer Association to support local children and families facing childhood cancer. The benefit will include performances by Slade Coulter and Colton Mortensen, as well as silent and live auctions.
