Utility providers in Slovakia and Poland announce service interruptions
Utility providers across Slovakia and Poland are implementing various infrastructure updates, including planned power outages, heating season preparations, and meter replacements.
In Slovakia, residents in the Prešov region face scheduled electricity outages between October 6 and October 9, affecting dozens of locations including Poprad, Lipany, and Prešov.
In Poland, several regions are managing utility transitions. Energa Operator and PGE have announced power interruptions for maintenance in the Krotoszyn and Piotrków Trybunalski districts. Enea is conducting outages in Zielona Góra, while LPEC is managing heating and hot water disruptions in Lublin.
Additionally, heating preparations are underway in Łowicz, where kindergartens are already heated and residential heating is set to begin on October 8. A significant regulatory shift is also noted for Poland, where new rules effective January 2027 will mandate a minimum heating fee for multi-family buildings and require the replacement of traditional meters with digital devices for remote reading. In Brok, residents are being advised to prepare for the installation of new remote-reading water meters throughout October.
