Lubartów hosts 32nd Bike Festival amid heat, UN World Bicycle Day

Thousands of cyclists gathered in Lubartów for the 32nd edition of the local Bike Festival despite high temperatures. The event featured eight routes ranging from a new 15‑kilometre family path to a 62‑kilometre challenge for seasoned riders. Organisers provided water curtains and a special lemonade‑infused tap water to keep participants cool.

The festival also served a charitable purpose, raising funds for Edyta Lewtak in cooperation with the “Wstawaj Alicja” foundation. Sponsors displayed their products along Nowodworska Street, and participants received traditional military‑style pea soup. An honor round swept through the town at 18:15, followed by the official closing ceremony.

Special guests included well‑known Polish cyclists Czesław Lang, Łukasz Bodnar, Roman Cieślak and Lechosław Michalak, as well as Eurosport journalist Mariusz Czykier. This year's celebration coincided with Lubartów hosting the central observances of World Bicycle Day under United Nations patronage.
