Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani is leading a major economic mission to South America, specifically focusing on Brazil to strengthen bilateral trade and industrial cooperation. Accompanied by a delegation of over 100 Italian companies, Tajani is working to consolidate economic partnerships and support export growth.

In São Paulo, Tajani has emphasized that Italy aims to resolve trade barriers through diplomatic dialogue while strictly adhering to European Union regulatory frameworks. To facilitate this, a new working group will be established between the Italian and Brazilian governments, intended to meet annually.

Brazil remains a priority market for Italian exports, serving as the primary destination for Italian goods within the Mercosur region. In 2025, bilateral trade reached 11.07 billion euros, representing a 6.7% increase, with Italian exports totaling 5.8 billion euros.

During his visit, Tajani also met with leaders from major Italian entities operating in Brazil, including Enel and Stellantis. Additionally, the Minister was honored by the Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo (Fiesp) with the title of Grand Master of the Order of Industrial Merit of São Paulo.
