Luca Bruggioni finishes in top 20 at Snipe World Championship

Brazilian sailor Luca Bruggioni, 18, finished within the top 20 at the Snipe World Championship held in Mahón, Spain. Competing alongside Spanish partner Victor Perez, the duo accumulated 193 points across nine regattas, achieving notable individual finishes of 10th and 11th place.

The championship featured 88 teams from 21 countries, including world champions such as Argentina’s Julio Alsogaray and Spain’s Alfredo González. The competition was marked by highly variable weather conditions, ranging from strong winds and rough seas to light, unstable winds and a day of no wind that forced race cancellations.

The world title was claimed by Americans Ernesto Rodriguez and Taylor Scheuermann. They were followed by Argentinian pair Julio Alsogaray and Malena Sciarra in second place, and Spaniards Alfredo González and Cristian Sánchez in third. Bruggioni noted the demanding nature of the event and the value of competing against elite international crews.
