Sampdoria appoints Luca D’Angelo as new head coach

Sampdoria has officially appointed Luca D’Angelo as the new head coach of its first team, signing a contract that runs until June 30, 2028. D’Angelo succeeds Bernardo Corradi, who was dismissed following a period of poor results that left the club at the bottom of the Serie B standings.

D’Angelo, a specialist in Serie B with previous success at Pisa and Spezia, arrives with a technical staff including assistant coach Luca Mora, technical collaborator Giuseppe Leonetti, and fitness trainers Marco Greco and Stefano Cappelli. Attilio Lombardo will remain with the club as a technical advisor to provide continuity.

The new manager faces an immediate challenge, with his debut scheduled for an away match against Südtirol in Bolzano. The club aims to use D’Angelo’s experience to restore tactical identity and improve the team's morale following a difficult start to the season.
