Luca D’Angelo appointed as Sampdoria head coach

U.C. Sampdoria has officially announced the appointment of Luca D’Angelo as the new head coach of the first team. D’Angelo, a former defender, brings extensive experience in Italian football, particularly in Serie B, having previously led Pisa to promotion and Spezia to significant competitive milestones.

As D’Angelo prepares for his debut on the sidelines, he faces an immediate leadership decision regarding the team captaincy. Ahead of the upcoming match against Südtirol, the coach must select a player to wear the captain's armband. Potential candidates include Alex Ferrari, Fabio Depaoli, and Liam Henderson, who held the role at the start of the season.
