Luca Iorio announces candidacy for mayor of Isernia

Luca Iorio, a healthcare professional and son of former governor Michele Iorio, has officially announced his candidacy for mayor of Isernia. He presented his civic movement, ‘Vento di Cambiamento’, at a recent event.

Iorio’s candidacy is expected to align with the center-right coalition. Notably, Gigi Brasiello, the former mayor of Campobasso and a figure from the center-left, has expressed support for the project, signaling a potential shift in local political alliances.

Representatives from the center-right coalition, including Fratelli d’Italia, Lega, Forza Italia, Alleanza per il Futuro, and Popolari per l’Italia, recently met to discuss the candidacy. While Fratelli d’Italia has already endorsed Iorio, other parties such as Lega are still consulting their local bases. A follow-up meeting is scheduled for Monday, October 19, to finalize the coalition's position and determine if any other candidates will emerge.
