Luca Marini signs two‑year contract with KTM Tech3 for 2027 MotoGP season
Italian MotoGP rider Luca Marini will leave Honda at the end of the 2026 season and has agreed to a two‑year deal with the Red Bull‑backed KTM Tech3 team starting in 2027. The agreement, confirmed for the 2027 and 2028 seasons, marks a shift from his current factory Honda HRC outfit, where he has been since 2023. Marini said an official announcement could come as early as the weekend of the British Grand Prix.
Honda has already outlined its 2027 line‑up with Fabio Quartararo and a choice between David Alonso and Diogo Moreira, leaving no room for Marini or teammate Joan Mir. While Marini expects to remain competitive in the second half of 2026, he doubts the current Honda bike will reach the podium. The move to KTM Tech3 pairs him with rookie Senna Agius, aiming to blend experience with the team’s development of a new 850 cc project.
