European Aquatics Championships: Mladenovic wins bronze and Armbruster sets German record

At the European Aquatics Championships in Paris, Austrian swimmer Luka Mladenovic secured a bronze medal in the 200m breaststroke with a time of 2:08.91. This marks his first long-course European medal and the 32nd medal for Austria in the 50m pool. Additionally, Austrian Christian Giefing broke the national record in the 200m freestyle during the heats and has qualified for the final.

German swimmers also saw significant performances despite not securing medals on the fourth day of competition. Luca Nik Armbruster set a new German record in the 50m butterfly with a time of 22.71 seconds, qualifying him for the final. Other German athletes, including Lukas Märtens (200m freestyle), Angelina Köhler (100m butterfly), and Isabel Gose (1500m freestyle), have also qualified for their respective finals, positioning them for potential podium finishes.
