Luca Rento holds exhibition in Venice exploring movement and stillness
Artist Luca Rento is presenting ‘Prima che tutto svanisca’ at the Fondazione Querini Stampalia in Venice. The exhibition showcases twenty-five years of research into the boundary between life and death through works that blur the line between photography and video.
At first glance, the pieces appear to be static photographs or paintings. However, upon closer inspection, they reveal subtle, almost imperceptible movements, such as trembling leaves, shifting clouds, or pulsing veins. Curator Alfredo Cramerotti describes the work as ‘moving images held alive,’ designed to capture the passage of time and the ever-changing nature of life.
