Lucana Film Commission promotes Basilicata heritage through cinema

The Lucana Film Commission presented its ‘Fantastico Cinema’ project at the Festival del Medioevo in Gubbio. The initiative aims to promote the economic development of rural areas and historical sites in Basilicata by integrating audiovisual storytelling with the region's cultural heritage.

During the presentation, President Margherita Romaniello highlighted the success of summer events held at the castles of Lagopesole, Monteserico, Venosa, and Palazzo San Gervasio. These locations served as cinematic backdrops for narratives exploring medieval history.

Scientific director Professor Fulvio Delle Donne introduced a series of volumes and a web series focused on Emperor Frederick II. The digital content examines the historical figures and the Norman-Swabian presence in the Lucanian territory, bridging historical rigor with modern cinematic language.
