Lucas Assadi receives work permit to play for AIK

Chilean footballer Lucas Assadi has officially received his work permit to play in Sweden, clearing the administrative hurdle that previously prevented him from training and competing with AIK.

Assadi, who joined the club from Universidad de Chile in a deal worth approximately $2.3 million, had been unable to participate in matches, including a recent derby against Hammarby, due to visa delays. While he had been present at the club, he was initially restricted from full group training sessions.

With his documentation now approved, Assadi is eligible for selection by coach José Riveiro. His potential debut is expected to take place on Monday, September 7, in the match against Malmö.
