Lucas Barrios returns as Sportivo Luqueño head coach

Sportivo Luqueño has announced a change in its technical direction following a 3-0 defeat against Olimpia. Hernán Rodrigo López has departed from his role as head coach after managing 21 matches, recording 6 wins, 4 draws, and 11 losses.

Lucas Barrios will return to lead the team. Club president Daniel Rodríguez described Barrios as a ‘son of the house’ who is intimately familiar with the current squad, noting that Barrios was actually responsible for assembling the current roster.

The club currently faces a difficult campaign, sitting ninth in the Torneo Clausura with 10 points and near the bottom of the cumulative standings. Barrios, who previously managed 15 matches for the club this season, is tasked with improving the team's standing and reversing their recent sporting performance.
